Position: Design Manager – London – Main Contractor
Package: £55-65k with car allowance and full benefits package.
Company: Regional Main Contractor, well thought of and with a high proportion of repeat and negotiated projects, ranging in value from £5m to £75m across most industry sectors.
Role: Design Manager - Management of design aspects at preconstruction and construction stage of a large project, you will be expected to manage the design elements as part of the pre-construction team offering guidance and advice upon buildability issues and management of the design process and external consultants.
Specific responsibilities include leadership of the design process, management of multiple external design teams, setting and management of a design programme, review of subcontractors design, value management, project specifications, maintain design within cost restraints, minimise risk, ensure the design process recognises current legislation, standards and Codes of Practice. During construction you will act in a project advisory role to the Project team, whilst monitoring performance of design consultants, project information, compliance of design, subcontractors and variations.
Package: In return for your hard work and commitment, our client can offer an excellent package including a negotiable basic salary of circa £55-65k, car allowance, health care, pension and further benefits.
Requirements: The successful candidates should have formal UK construction qualifications and a proven track record of successfully providing Design Management support to building sector projects ranging in value from £10m; you will need to demonstrate experience of managing external design teams and have, previous experience with a main contractor.
